I had not heard Dawes previous to the Mumford concert. I was immediately a fan! Great music and his voice was amazing. The songs were beautiful. Everyone really loved the show. Fans were singing along to every song.
I had the pleasure of photographing this family at Edgewater beach last week. I knew I wanted to shoot there because it has so many elements. The water, rocks, trees, the beach and sand. With two kids there are plenty … Continue reading
This was my first adult/maternity shoot. I wasn’t nervous because I had some ideas planned and a pretty spot, and a gorgeous couple! I was really excited to capture the excitement and happiness of a an upcoming new life! It made me remember my own pregnancy and all the things that come along with it! I am very used to candid shots, and also just chasing kids around. This was a new challenge for me. I had to plan every picture, every pose, and tell them what to do. Kara is 7 months pregnant and looked gorgeous so that was easy!! Frank was amazing. He would touch her belly, or look down at it, and hold her hand. I was very impressed that he came and was into the shoot. They were so cute! You could tell they were nervous and I would say, ok its time to get a little intimate. :- My favorite shot is the one of just her belly with the bow and his hands. This actually came out of a bad pic too! Her eyes were closed and I had a previous shot that was similar so I wanted to try to make something else out of it… I could not have been happier with the result! I am really happy with all the pictures and I know the couple is too! I am so excited for them and she said she can’t wait to put the pics around their brand new apartment they just got together! How exciting for them. New apartment and even more a new life on the way! I am going to their baby shower on sunday and am going to blow up some pics for part of their gift!!
I love this family! These are great friends of mine and I love their kids like they are my own! Mia looks just like her mommy and Dominic like his dad, with blue eyes. It was a little bit difficult, as I think photographing 4 people at the same time can be! It is hard to have the parents, a 5 year old, and a 2 1/2 year old all look and smile at you at the same time! I was a little nervous when I got home that I was not going to be able to produce a lot of shots for them, but I was happy! I snapped a ton of pictures (prob 150-200) which took me a long time to go through, but I’m glad that I did. I was able to find at least 50 really good shots for them!! I had so much fun with them and they are such an amazing family! The photographs are a little less candid than my typical style, but I have been trying to produce more posed shots, since I feel that is what a lot of families want. I’m really happy that they liked the pics and I’m sure I will see them on their wall soon! 😉 ,
I photographed Tristan Prettyman and Joshua Radin at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights. I really like the venue. It is set up like Blossom with pavilion and lawn but about 1/3 the size! The architecture is really neat and has some old stone work, the park is really pretty. They let you bring in your own food and beverages (no alcohol) so you can have a picnic on a blanket! I don’t think there is really a bad seat, as you can see some of the further away shots are from the lawn. The sound system was really good. I have never heard of Tristan but she had a gorgeous and flawless voice. Her music was intriguing and her storytelling with her lyrics really sucked you in. I couldn’t stay too long for Joshua’s set but he has a great voice and his stage presence just makes you feel like you are at home hanging out with a friend. This is an outdoor venue so it was sort of light out but just starting to get dark. There is not too much to the lighting set up but they featured some instruments, props, and some blue lights. I thought is was very personal and intimate. Here are some of my shots from the evening.
